had my 4th skating lesson this morning. the ice rink was madly filled with people today. we hardly had any space to skate so jenny, our teacher called for a zone at the side strictly only for us. i was pretty upset in the morning as nat's mom didn't give her the green light to continue. which is why today's my first lesson without her. nat why u have to stop so fast???:(
anyway on the good side, as to date, i've learnt how to forward and backward swizzle, skate on one foot, stop on ice, spin two-footedly(which i basically suck at and still cannot pull off), launch, and my favourite which we just learnt today- crossovers!!! they're not all that easy but it's quite possible to pull them off with loads of practice.
when i started last week i never imagined how much skating would do to my body. like seriously. i came home on the first day with 2 huge bruises on my knees(which, thank god are disappearing now), little scraps on my elbows and my muscles were hurting as hell. but daddy reckons its good exercise so he encourages it. besides, i've been pretty much deprived of any form of physical activity lately. so skating is quite the perfect thing to do.
but falling isn't.
oh goddd. 4 lessons in and i've already fell like a gazillion times. it can be really fun and humiliating. but i'm pretty petite and light a person. which is a good thing in skating as the falls aren't so painful. but still, i fell today. on my butt and it hurt so much i think i injured my tailbone a little :(
haha anyway that's about my skating experience so far. oh and did i mention that the guy from mac centre has two kids who are in my class? what a small world!
