I Know Everything Dies

i helped out at the biology workshop this afternoon with ann, su wei, suat wei and jing woay. and guess what?? i was put into jim's classmates group! i had 4 to take care of. it wasn't a very easy thing to do. i was doing so much of speaking that my throat went all dry. thank you jing woay for helping me out!! :):):)

and it wasn't easy especially for this one particular guy. he just couldn't get what i was talking about. he doesn't even know the difference between a xylem and a phloem. tell me you're kidding, right?

me : so do you know what happens when a DNA double helix uncoils itself?
boy : it will die.
me : what will die?
boy : the DNA will spin spin spin and then die.
me : no they wont die. they act as templates. do you know what a template is?
boy : er no.
me : a DNA double helix is made up of two polynucleotide strands. when undergoing semi-conservative replication, they will separate and form 2 parent strands for complementary base-pairing. and that is how is works as a template.
boy : oh..
me : so you understand?
boy : yah.
me : good.
..............
boy : so why won't it die ah?
...OMFG..

he was giving me answers which made no sense at all. what was worse, he was asking questions which were making even less sense. SERIOUSLY MAN. thank god jing woay took care of him. i swear i wouldn't have been able to stand him anymore if he had asked me one more "why-wont-it-die" question.
