the competition - my story

waala....the competition is finally over...now where do i start?...k let's just say... i'm probably one of the most satisfied person right now..haha...k maybe not....there are 2 people(i think) who seem 2 be happier than i m...1st person will be my dad(who is in sydney now...haha), n 2nd will be mrs p(who lost her voice for some reason)...they both seem extremely happy. mom...haha is cool as usual....lol.



lol....i cant believe it either.


i think it's a good idea to dump everything into my blog for rememberance sake.....besides, "someone" says he reads my blog (or rather he 'read' my blog)...hmmm i wonder who tt might be...haha nvm

so ermm...i'll tell u about the competition frm the very first day till yesterday's gala or better still, i'll start with yesterday(2nd december 2006)

2nd dec 06 saturday
i woke up at 7 in da morning, n then forced 2 plain biscuits n a cup of milo down(i've been forcing myself to do tt every single morning since the 1st day)..then i ran through my f minor concerto for like 30 minutes (btw i've not touched tt concerto since the balloting night...lol) then ma, scott n i headed to fetch popo n aunt seong to panggung bandaraya.

when we got there(really early), i was the only lone soul frm concerto B, the others were frm concerto A....i thought to myself, "i'm soo dead...everyone else is busy practising...n here i m bckstage doing nth but listening to little kids play" haha...not long after, su yen arrived. i missed scott's turn, cos i was warming up then. hazel arrived. she got a new dress...it's nice.

after the concerto A finished, it was my turn...but as usual there was a 10 minute intermission...but 4 some reason...this time it seemed really long. so yea, here's a little confession i will make...ehhhhemmm.....haha....k so i dashed into the warm up room again...to my surprise, no one was at the piano!!!...so...i suppose any pianist can predict my nxt move...lol....i had another 5 good minutes of warm up....shhhh...haha...lucky me

so b4 i went on stage, hazel, su yen n i were joking bout some stupid stuff...we were planning not to accompany hazel's concerto...hahaha...
anyway, so i went 1st playing the f minor concerto....it wasnt bad. then hazel played her e minor concerto, not bad also. then came victor.....now this guy really shocked hazel n i...omg he played sooo fast...like a machine...we were like "wow"....then kit long, then tarin...u know i truly believe tarin could hv done a lot better with his concerto(maybe his fingers were cold)...anyway, he played it well. then came the uzbek gal...i thought her andante spianato was quite good but a little too aggresive.


then came andrew! hahaha...the only brave soul who got himself into concerto c...lol...his bro accompanied him...it was not bad i must say. andrew's a very funny n sorta blurrr guy...lol...anyway, all of us(junior high & concerto b & c) got 2 know each other a lot better during the whole 5 days of competition.


after the concertos ended, mom n scott went bck...hazel n i had 2 stay bck for some photography session...so hazel, su ern, angela n i headed to burger king to grab some lunch...we saw chong lim n su yen there.


when we returned to the panggung, i was feeling really really really exhausted n weak....so i took a nap on the stairway with su ern, hazel n angela sitting n talking beside me. i know i looked really weird sleeping there....but nvm... things got worse as we got shoo-ed by some stupid worker haha....so we enterd the hall n i took a nap there.

after a while, all finalists were called into the bckstage...i was feeling really dizzy....i knew i was going down with a fever....my body temperature shot up suddenly.. i was feeling bad already....hazel n gang were using wet tissue papers to sponge my fore head...lol...yup i was like a boiling egg...but nvm, i managed to hang on long enough...bckstage, i met angela's bro, jonathan (who, in one of my previous posts.......erm nvm) haha

well i got a gold for junior high, n a silver for concerto B...honestly i wasnt really thinking properly bck then...i was dizzy on stage...i can only remember a few names...so here they are:

elementary 1 n 2 - silver award went to gabriel frm malaysia

elementary 3 n 4 - gold award went to victoria audrey frm indonesia (as i expected)
- silver award " " nayaka " "

elementary 5 n 6 - gold award went to randy ryan frm indonesia ( my prediction was right! yay) - bronze " " ryan fergie, jen ho n ju hee

junior high - haha...i got the gold yay...

- bronze to andrew n victor

senior high - i only remember one name- jonathan got the silver award

college - i'm not sure if i heard any name being called .....or maybe i wasn't
paying attention...again im not sure ok

concerto A - gold award to nayaka

- scott got the silver...he was so happy

- im not sure who got the bronze

concerto B - silver award tarin n myself

- bronze award to hazel, eleonora n victor

concerto C - andrew got the silver award! well done andrew!!

also, i got the Best Malaysian award....




err...7 of us were called again 2 stage for the announcement for the gala concert performance in shangrila later tt night. i was suppose to end the concert with bolero...but mrs p told datin sarina i wasnt fit enough to play bolero....so ok she said i could play da 2 mazurkas...n jonathan can end it with his scherzo.


after the prize presentation, ma brought me to a nearby clinic...haha...thk god my fever went down a lil' bit. i took some pills, took a bath n headed 4 shangrila.



the concert went smoothly...after jonathan, viktor bijelovic(as expected) played a couple of pieces. we also recieved some RM500 in cash...not bad huh? lol...


Guess what? daddy n sean will be coming bck tonight frm sydney at 12.00am...can't wait to see them at the airport...then we can go n hv some midnight celebration...haha ..btw, sean finished up 28th at the world youth scrabble competition which ended a couple of hours ago....the top malaysian is brian (i think) who ended 19th. Not too bad ya?

tt's viktor...he's super tall...he was here mid of last year, gave us some classes while mrs p was away...

this's 20 year old eleonora frm uzbekistan.... also a very nice gal...aunty esther says we might be performing together this coming sunday...im not sure yet
